TerraVerte Digest

Independent writing on sustainability. One article at a time.

Contributors

TerraVerte Digest is built on the work of writers, researchers, and practitioners who bring direct experience to the issues we cover. We are always looking for new contributors.

Write for Us

We publish reporting, analysis, opinion, and interviews across our six sections: Ground Truth, Signal and Noise, Systems, Tech and Planet, Money and Mission, and Voices. We are particularly interested in pieces from practitioners with direct experience of the issues we cover, researchers with original findings to share, and journalists reporting from contexts underrepresented in mainstream sustainability media.

We pay contributors. Rates are discussed at the pitch stage.

How to Pitch

Send two to three sentences describing your proposed piece, why it matters now, and why you are the right person to write it. Include a brief biography and any relevant published work. We respond to every pitch, usually within five working days. Send pitches via the contact page with the subject line “Pitch.”

What We Are Looking For

Strong pitches have a clear argument, a reason why the piece is timely, and evidence that the writer has access to sources or expertise that others do not. We hold all contributions to the same editorial standards regardless of the contributor’s seniority or affiliation. Factual claims must be verifiable. Conflicts of interest must be disclosed. Opinion must be clearly labelled.

This section will be updated as the contributor network grows.

The Carbon Ledger

A publication about the planet should cost it almost nothing.

This site ships no web fonts, no trackers and no raster images by default, and loads pictures only when you ask. The single external call is the carbon meter itself, made at most once a day and cached on your device. The rating is not self-assigned: it is measured independently by Website Carbon.
